We certainly do.
Any discs or cases that are wasted during production
are sent for recycling where the aluminium and polycarbonate
contents are separated and then used in the manfuacture
of new items that require hard plastics or aluminium.
We use a company
called Discrecycling.co.uk based in Leicester as they can process a huge range of polymers including HDPE, LDPE, PP, ABS, PC, HIPS, PA6, PA66, MDPE, PC/ABS and many more. If you have any CDs, DVDs or cases that
you would like to be recycled then please visit Discrecycling.co.uk web site for further information of where
to send your discs for free
of charge recycling.
As an alternative recycling company for your old album CDs, DVD films and computer games, you can earn money by recycling them at musicmagpie.co.uk where you enter the barcode of the album, DVD or games and they will then let you know how much they will pay you for it, plus they will also pay for the delivery costs.
Wizbit also recycle
packaging materials and boxes wherever possible,
and use Flo-pak BIO 8, a free flowing bio
degradeable cushioning material that looks like a
white foam version of cheesy Wotsits.
Artwork from old CDs and DVDs
Sometimes our old discs or clear plastic disc separators meet a far more creative end, being used in paintings, sculptures or wall art. The artworks below were created by Ken Hayes from Red Cherry Art using spare clear disc separators that we would otherwise have sent for recycling.
