Business Card DVD Design
Specifications - Silk Screen Printing
For Silk Screen printing we use a
300MB DVD-Rom card and the artwork is printed directly
onto the surface of the card. Also known as serigraphy,
involving the use of stencils to transfer the design.
Paint is applied to a silk or nylon screen and penetrates
areas of the screen not blocked by the stencil. By
using several stencils a number of colors may be employed
in a single print.
The discs themselves are pressed rather
than burnt by laser and so they cannot be supplied
as blank DVDs for you to burn your own content onto.
The files for the discs must be included at the same
time as printing.
Our 300MB DVD-Rom discs measure 85mm
x 60mm, although the artwork should measure 84mm x
58mm and should be produced at a resolution of 300dpi
using CMYK colour separation.
Please make sure that font sizes are
no smaller than 6pt and please either supply the font
files of the fonts used, or convert them to outlines.
The artwork should preferably be supplied
as a Photoshop PSD file.
Please do not place background images
in keyline layer.
